Waxing

Q: How long does my hair need to be?

A: ¼ inch is the minimum and ideal length. But if the hair is any shorter, the wax may not be able to grasp and pull successfully.

Q: Does it matter when or how often I come in for my wax?

A: Yes. To keep your maintenance on track and on point you want to come in every 2-4 weeks, depending on the area.

Q: Can I actually reduce my hair growth?

A: Yes, but you have to pay attention to your growth cycle. If you let your length grow closer to or surpass the half-inch mark, the hair will have already begun its shedding process. There will already be a new hair growing in its place and no damage can be caused to the follicle. Causing this damage is what encourages the deterioration of your growth cycle.

Q: Does waxing hurt?

A: Yes. Pain is relative person to person so it’s difficult to say exactly how much it will hurt. There is a quick initial sting and then the unpleasantness is gone. Generally speaking, it is never as bad as you think it will be and its over quickly.

Q: Is there anything I can do to help lessen the pain?

A: Taking an ibuprofen before your appointment can be helpful. But for long term help, coming in for your wax when your hair in between ¼-½ inch and following a waxing schedule will allow you to avoid unnecessary discomfort and accomplish faster results!

Q: How much information is TMI?

A: The limit does not exist. I’m honored to be a confidant and listen to all you have to share, but what I always need to hear about is any and all allergies, sensitivities, new medications, or anything else that could compromise your skin during your service.

Q: Can I get a Brazilian while I’m on my period?

A: Yes, as long as you wear a tampon or a menstrual cup. I am not phased and can easily get the job done just the same. The only real difference is that you may experience more discomfort than usual due to the area being in a full-on state of inflammation.

Q: If I have a full-blown Yeti birthday suit, should I trim or just come in as is?

A: Well, you have two options. Shave and wait for the proper grow out or come in as is and endure a much longer and more painful appointment. Trimming is not a great idea unless you have a trimmer with a guard. If you trim too short, the wax won't be able to pull any of the hairs.

Lashes

Q: What are lash extensions?

A: Lash extensions are a semi-permanent application, bonding synthetic faux mink fibers with professional grade adhesive to one single natural lash. Extensions can only be applied to an existing healthy mature lash and never adhered to the skin.

Q: What are the different lash styles to choose from?

Classic: One single false lash to one single natural lash

Volume: A fan consisting of 2-10 fine diameter false lashes to one single natural lash

Mega Volume: A fan consisting of 10+ ultra fine diameter lashes to one single natural lash

Hybrid: A 50/50 mix of classic singles and volume fans to your individual natural lashes

Q: What are the different lash shapes to choose from?

A: Cat eye, Doll eye, Open eye, Spikey, and Natural

Q: Which lash curls do you carry?

A: C, C+, CC, D, D+, DD

Q: What lengths do you carry?

A: 5mm-22mm

Q: What diameters do you carry?

A: .02 and .03 for mega volume and .05 and .07 for volume and classic

Q: Do you carry any fun colors?

A: I sure do! Neons, pastels, bold, vibrant, and glitter!

Q: Why don’t my lashes look exactly like the picture I showed my lash lady?

A: Because everyone’s natural lashes are different. The length and strength of your natural lashes dictate the length and weight of the false lashes able to be responsibly applied.

Q: Do extensions ruin my natural lashes?

A: No. Not if applied correctly. Damage comes when false lashes are too long or heavy for your natural lashes or when your lashes are not properly isolated and fuse together.

Q: What happens if I have a reaction?

A: Allergic reactions are rare, but some people are sensitive to the fumes of the lash adhesive. A reaction typically flares up 24-48 hours after your lash application. Symptoms include redness, itching, and swelling. Taking an antihistamine can solve mild irritation but if your allergy is more severe, you may need to have your lashes removed completely.

Q: Why are my lashes falling out? Are the extensions making this happen?

A: We naturally shed 1-3 lashes a day, but we don’t always notice. When theres an extension attached to the shedding lash, it becomes much more obvious. Do not panic. If it didn’t hurt, it is completely healthy.

Q: What if my lashes are falling off without a natural lash attached?

A: This becomes a trouble-shooting process of elimination. Excessive eye watering? Oily skin care products migrating towards your lash line? Simply neglecting to wash the naturally occurring oil and debris build up from your lashes every day? Any of these issues and more can cause lash loss.

Q: How often should I come in for my fills?

A: The general agreed upon timeline is one hour every 2 weeks. This is a great base line, but varying lifestyles, makeup and skin care routines, oil production, and lash volume standards can call for more frequent appointments.

Spray Tans

Q: How should I prepare my skin for the best spray tan results?

A: Stay hydrated, exfoliate regularly, and full body moisturize daily.

Q: How do I take care of my spray tan after it is applied?

A: Stay completely dry while your tan processes, avoid exfoliation when you shower, and stay moisturized every day!

Q: How long will my spray tan last?

A: Around 7 days, give or take, depending on aftercare.

Q: Do I need to wear sunscreen when I look tan?

A: YES! A spray tan is only for appearances. You will absolutely still burn if you do not take proper precautions.

Q: How do I keep my tan as long as possible?

A: Avoid all harsh fragrances, chemicals, and astringents. Avoid chlorinated pools and salt water. I do recommend using a gradual tanning lotion that will help blend the gaps between your natural skin tone and your spray tan tint.

Q: Do I need to be naked to get a spray tan?

A: No. You can be dressed or undressed however you please. You’re welcomed to wear your own clothing, go completely nude, or there is disposable underwear for your convince!

Q: Will I turn orange?

A: No. You will be given a timeframe in which you need to shower. This will keep your tan looking natural. If you shower too soon, you wont have a chance to fully develop. If you shower too late you run the risk of your tan turning a less natural shade.

Q: What if I don’t want to get too dark?

A: Not to worry! We will have an intake conversation and you can choose your level of tan.

Brow Lamination

Q: What is a brow lamination:

A: It is a perm for your brow hairs, designed to place hairs in your desired direction.

Q: How is it done?

A: It is a multi step chemical process lasting about an hour. We start by breaking down the bond within each hair, then sculpt the hairs into the desired shape, set the hairs, and finish with a keratin treatment to restore moisture back into the brows.

Q: How long do results last?

A: If you follow proper aftercare the results should last between 6-8 weeks.

Q: What are the aftercare steps for the first 24-48 hours?

A: Keep your brows completely dry, avoid makeup, no swimming, saunas, gyms, and the like. Do not touch!

Q: How should I care for my brows after the 24-48 hour period?

A: Brush Your brows with a spoolie everyday when you wake up and use a good brow serum to keep them strong and healthy.

Q: How soon can I come in for my next lamination?

A: No sooner than 6 weeks.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: No. A tingling sensation is normal, but if you feel any intense itching or burning you should say something immediately.

Q: Is everyone a good candidate for this procedure?

A: No, unfortunately not. Laminations are not right for you if your brows are overly fine and weak, you’ve recently undergone any type of eye surgery or have any eye infections, or if you have any open wounds or have sunburns in the area.

Q: Is it safe to get a lamination if I’m pregnant or breast feeding?

A: No, due to the possibility of the chemicals seeping into the skin and entering the bloodstream.

Lash Lifts

Q: What is a lash lift?

A: It is a semi permanent treatment that curls your natural lashes, lifting the hairs for a fuller and longer effect.

Q: How is it done?

A: The natural lashes are positioned over a curved silicone mold and a multi-step perming process is applied to set the lashes in an upward curled position, followed by a deep conditioning to restore hydration back the lashes.

Q: How do I care for my lashes the first 24-48 hours?

A: Keep your lashes completely dry, avoid makeup and excessive tears. No swimming, saunas, gyms, and the like. Do not touch!

Q: How long will my results last?

A: If taken care of properly, between 6-8 weeks.

Q: How do I care for my lashes after the first 24-48 hours?

A: Brush your lashes with a spoolie everyday, clean your face as usual, and use a good lash serum to keep them strong and healthy. They are otherwise very low maintenance.

Q: How soon can I come in for my next lift?

A: No sooner than 6 weeks.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: No, it shouldn’t. It is possible, however, for the waterline to become exposed. If this happens, you may experience a temporary discomfort.

Q: Who are ideal candidates for a lash lift?

A: Anyone who wants to enhance the appearance of their natural lashes but does not want or is unable to wear lash extensions. If your lashes are straight or point in a downward direction, a lash lift will open your eyes and bring your natural lashes to attention.

Q: Will this chemical process damage my lashes?

A: No. This treatment should not cause any damage. If ever the lashes become too processed, there will be no permanent damage to the lashes as the hairs grow and shed regularly producing new and untreated lashes.
